Our Approach and Effort
Indika Energy’s social commitments start with our employees and extend to the communities where we operate, and ultimately to Indonesia and the world.
The excellent women and men who work for us are the driving force behind our achievements. They are also our family, and we are as committed to seeing them succeed as they are to contributing to Indika Energy’s collective success.
Their health and safety is paramount across our operations, even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also fully engaged with the communities in which we operate, where we run a range of educational, health, empowerment and social programs that create jobs and livelihoods, and promote entrepreneurship and self-sustainability. Internal or external, local or national, domestic or global — when the community does well, so do we.

Social Program
Our engagement with others is based first and foremost on respect for fundamental human rights, and we take seriously our commitments and obligations to ensuring those rights are always protected. We have always operated on the basis that there is no sustainable business without strong ethics, which is why we uphold a rigorous code of conduct in all our dealings, with zero tolerance for violations.
Our People
Indika Energy works throughout Indonesia, and our workforce is a reflection of the diversity of the country. We help our employees grow, nurture their innate talent, and cultivate new skills that will help them move forward both professionally and in life. We are committed to diversity and equal opportunity based on merit and ethics. We are proud to be recognized as one of the best companies to work for in Asia.
Workplace Health and Safety
The safety of our workers is our utmost priority. In 2020, our safety record continued to improve, while we took proactive steps to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Risk mitigation is a key part of our safety culture, complemented by Industry 4.0 innovations that help us achieve minimal-risk work environments.
Education
We believe that education is the key to driving positive change in society and developing the nation. That’s why we continue to support education initiatives both around our operational sites, and at the national level. These include scholarship programs and provision of computers, digital teaching aides and access to libraries. We also support early childhood education programs and vocation training, helping give youths in the community a strong foundation in life.
Health
We conduct various activities to help supplement national health facilities and infrastructure, in order to support optimal health for the communities where we operate. Our services include training for community health providers, HIV awareness and anti-drugs campaigns, and maternal and infant health programs. In 2020, we also provided testing and isolation facilities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and continue to be vigilant against the spread of the disease.
Community Empowerment
We are committed to creating jobs and growing local businesses in the communities where we operate. Our community empowerment programs are designed to help local residents become sustainably independent through micro-financing, small business support, and entrepreneurial training. By helping individuals stand on their own, these programs also benefit local economies.
Tolerance
In 2017, we established the Indika Foundation with two main focuses: building national character and promoting the spirit of tolerance. We have continued to make substantial progress in instilling these important values in Indonesian youths, reaching them through meaningful collaborations and content on social media platform.
