Environmental

Climate change and environmental conservation are pressing issues that transcend industries and countries. Indika Energy has committed to a net-zero carbon emission goal by 2050

Our Approach and Effort

As a leading player in the Indonesian energy sector, we have a responsibility to forge a path that diverges from business-as-usual and toward a sustainable future. We understand that to continue providing the energy driving Indonesia’s development while helping the country meet its emissions goals under the Paris Agreement, the adoption of clean technologies in both thermal production and power generation will be critical.

This is the reason we invested in decarbonization measures and technologies, relentlessly pursue efficiencies in energy and water use, and work to minimize our environmental footprint.

Our Targets and Achievements

We have a mid-term goal of boosting our non-coal streams to 50% of our business by 2025; and a long-term goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. These are the some of the other steps we are taking toward greater environmental sustainability.

Environmental Program

Our environmental programs cover a range of activities across the full scope of our Group and our value chains. We strive to go above and beyond regulatory requirements for all environmental indicators

Energy and Emissions

As Indonesia’s leading diversified energy company, we have a key role to play in leading the transition to a low-carbon economy, which is critical to addressing climate change. We have already taken a number of actions to support these objectives, including measurement and reduction of GHG emissions, more efficient energy use, utilization of renewable energy sources, and reforestation.
